Word derivation for "pear" :
Basque = madari and udare
Finnish = päärynä
Miresua = pädarä

Evidently Basque has two valid words for pear. Both Basque words contain "dar", so I used those letters when making my Miresua word. I decided to make the final letter ä (a umlaut), because the Finnish word contains three of them.

In this seven-letter word, there are five letters in common between the Basque and the Finnish words. I considered, but decided not to use the tx from the Basque word. Perhaps I liked this letter combination because it's somewhat similar to my name, Mariska, which is actually my middle name.

My Miresua word resembles the English word lemon (and Spanish word limón), instead of the French word citron. I wanted to use the m.

Last time I created a Miresua word for pink. So I decided to define a word for orange as well, to have words for all 11 basic colors. In Finnish there's another lengthy word for orange, oranssinvärinen, which translates as orange-color.

This isn't the word for orange, the fruit. Finnish has different word for that. I'll make the noun orange, the edible orange, my next word.

This Miresua word has been changed. The word for orange (color) is now aransi.

Miresua = poska

Both the Basque word and the Finnish word for pink appear to be borrowed words, based on rosy and pink respectively. There's another word in Finnish for pink, vaaleanpunainen, which translates as light-red. But somehow, I didn't care to deal with a 15-letter word for pink.

Pink is a word from the second paragraph of Alice's Adventures in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll, my next translation attempt.

This Miresua conlang word has been changed. The word for pink is now pinsa.
