Basque = gari, Finnish = vehnä
Miresua = venga
I considered making this word verga, but that word can be vulgar in Spanish.

Basque = arroz (same as Spanish), Finnish = riisi
Miresua = rozi

Basque = arto, Finnish = maissi
Miresua = mairo
I considered making this word maito, but in Finnish maito means milk.

Word derivation for "grain" :
Basque = ale, Finnish = viljaa
Miresua = alja
Grain is the harvested seeds of various grass-related food crops. It's what is stored in a granary.

Basque = dilista, Finnish = linssi
Miresua = lidisa
These words -- bean, pea, lentil -- inspired me to cook up a pot of 15 bean soup. Yum!

In historic times, peas were grown mostly for their dry seeds. Nowadays, however, peas are usually boiled or steamed.

I'm taking a break from my translation attempts. Instead I'll do something easier for a while, so that I can build up a backlog of some words. I'll be defining Miresua words for some basic, dry food items.
