onion is sipulta

Word derivation for "onion" :
Basque = tipula, Finnish = sipuli
Miresua = sipulta

The Basque and the Finnish words for onion are unexpectedly similar, the middle four letters in both words are IPUL. I considered making my Miresua word sipula, but thought that was too like the Finnish word, so I inserted the T from the Basque word to make it slightly different.

This Miresua conlang word has been changed. The word for onion is now tipuli.

My previous word for apple was gemar, which was a bit of an alphabetic mishmash. My new word, samena, starts like the Basque word and ends like the Finnish word.

This Miresua conlang word has been changed. The word for apple is now sagen.

olive is oilva

Word derivation for "olive" :
Basque = oliba, Finnish = oliivi
Miresua = oilva

Although the first three letters of both the Basque and the Finnish words are OLI, I decided not to start my Miresua word that way. I mixed the letters a bit to OIL. Made me think of olive oil. I initially considered making this word oliva, but I found out that that is the word for olive in a bunch of languages, including the root of many those languages, Latin.

This Miresua conlang word has been changed. The word for olive is now olibi.

This is the word for the nut, the edible seed of the almond tree.

In Finland they eat berries such as the blueberry, bilberry (aka whortleberry), ligonberry (aka cowberry) and cloudberry. If there are words for these berries in Basque, I didn't find them. So this is a generic word for berry.

The Basque word for berry, baia, likely is derived from Spanish. Berry in Spanish is baya.

This Miresua word starts with ma-, as do both the Basque and the Finnish words. The Finnish word contains two "k"s, but I'm not using one because k is a very common letter. I decided to use the b instead, which is more unusual.

This Miresua conlang word has been changed. The word for six is now manarbi.
